Vehicle Counter Ambush Tactics and Techniques [VCATT] - LVL 1

Vehicle Counter Ambush Tactics and Techniques [VCATT] - LVL 1 is PISTOL ONLY course designed to increase the survivability of an individual during violent encounters in and around vehicles. VCATT teaches students how to effectively react to situations that they may find themselves in such as ambushes, robberies and carjackings. Day one of the course will consist of live fire around vehicles and finish on day two with force on force scenarios. 

Safety is paramount for this course. Students are expected to be safe at all times and will be expelled from the course if they conduct two or more unsafe acts. 

This course requires shooters to be confident with their weapon handling skills and physical fitness. THIS IS NOT A BASIC SHOOTING COURSE.

Topics covered:

   -Mitigating threats in and around vehicles

   -React to ambush 

   -Carjacking defense and response

   -Vehicular terminal ballistics

   -Weapon manipulation [Duty carry vs EDC]

Weapon Requirements:

   -Serviceable handgun with 3 x magazines and pouches

   -Holster: Duty rated or concealed carry *NO CLOTH OR FINGER ACTIVATED HOLSTERS PERMITITED

Ammo Requirements:

   -300 rounds Live ammo

   -150 Rounds Force on Force 9mm Marking Rounds ( https://www.streichers.com/force-on-force-9-mm-marking-round-50-rnd-bx )

Equipment requirements:

   -Eye protection

   -Hearing protection

   -Duty gear

   -Full finger gloves

   -Groin protection

   -Elbow and knee protection

Students should bring a bagged lunch and enough water for the day. A lunch break will not be given to ensure we maximize training time.
