Night Vision Operators Course - I introduces the students to the world of image intensifying devices. Our course is designed to equip students with the basic knowledge and confidence to operate in a low light/no light environment. This is not just a shooting course. Students will run through various drills to ensure that they understand not only the limitations and capabilities of the equipment, but their own limitations and capabilities as a night vision operator.
Prerequisites: Students should posses a basic level of understanding of firearms safety, marksmanship, and weapons handling prior to enrolling in this course. Day fire will be conducted to validate the student’s skills prior to conducting the low light/no light phase.

Course Restrictions: You must be a U.S. Citizen to enroll in this course. We also reserve to the right to deny entry into the course if it is deemed that the student(s) have malicious or nefarious intentions of utilizing the material taught.

Class Size: 8 Students max
*If a student is unable to attend the course due to an illness or any other valid reason, a credit will be given for another course of the same value
Round Count:
-Rifle and Pistol- Due to the current ammo situation the official round count will be TBD. Plan to have 400 rounds rifle and 100 rounds pistol. We may flex that by +/- 50 rounds the closer we get to the date. NO ARMOR PEIRCING ROUNDS
Weapon Requirements:
-Serviceable rifle with white light and IR laser/illuminator, sling and 5 x magazines
-Serviceable handgun with white light, holster (NO CLOTH OR SERPA HOLSTERS) and 3 x magazines
Equipment Requirements:
-Night vision goggles with mounting system
-Vest (plate carrier, chest rig, etc)
-Weather appropriate clothing
-Ballistic eye protection
-Hearing protection
-Flashlight (hand held)
-1 x Green Chemlight or Green helmet strobe
-Pen and paper
-Knee pads
-Gloves
Students are highly encouraged to bring food and water with them to the course. They are expected to eat and hydrate throughout the day on their own. A lunch break will not be given to ensure we maximize training time.
