About the event
Multipurpose Rifle Operator Course [MROC] - I bridges the gap between precision rifles and standard carbines. This 2 day course is designed and built around rifles equipped with low power variable optics. We will begin the day with individually setting up each shooter’s weapon system to ensure that the eye relief is correct and that the scope is leveled and torqued. The only time students will be shooting from the prone is when they‘re zeroing weapons and obtaining muzzle velocity. Everything else will be done from a supported or unsupported position; some with elevated heart rates. Students will leave MROC having a better understanding of how to effectively maximize the use of their weapon system.
THIS IS NOT A BASIC SHOOTING COURSE. This course requires students to be confident with their weapon handling skills and physical fitness. We will be moving and shooting from different types of cover and concealment such as barricades and vehicles. We will also be moving through uneven terrain and shoot from unconventional shooting positions.
Topics Covered:
-Rifle set up
-Fundamentals of precision marksmanship
-Ballistics
-Zero considerations
-Obtain muzzle velocity
-Unsupported/unsupported shooting positions
-Unorthodox shooting positions
-Positive Identification (PID) Drills
-Near/Far engagements
-Range estimation

Class size: 10 students max
Round Count:
500 Rounds
Match grade, duty or ball. We'd recommend bringing enough match grade or duty ammo to zero, obtain velocity and gather DOPE at certain distances. Use ball or training ammo for the remainder of the course.
Weapon Requirements:
AR15 with a low power variable optic, adjustable 2-point sling and a minimum of 3 x Magazines.
Equipment Requirements:
Eye and ear protection, rear support bag, assault pack, shooting mat or ground cover, pen/pencil, paper, food and water
*An inexpensive alternative to store bought rear support bag is an old tube sock filled with Airsoft BB’s.
Equipment Recommendations:
Chest rig, plate carrier, bipods, quarter back sleeve with index cards cut to fit screen, elbow pads, knee pads, hat, sunblock, shooting pillows such as game changers or fat bags
Students are highly encouraged to bring food and water with them to the course. They are expected to eat and hydrate throughout the day on their own. A lunch break will not be given to ensure we maximize training time.
